Are you looking to join a leading global food company as it seeks to further its sustainability impact? Acre is supporting Vestey Holdings, a family of food companies, which is focused on importing and distributing high-quality foods.
Vestey has been established for over 120 years and the key to its success has been responsible business and governance. Alongside Simply Sustainable, the management team at Vestey has been creating a new strategy which will ensure that the company secures a long-term orientated, sustainable approach.
The Vestey culture is one of decentralisation and accountability. Each operating company takes responsibility for its own commercial performance and will work closely with the incoming Head of ESG to implement the new Sustainability strategy. In your role, you will co-ordinate a team of c.12 "Sustainability Champions" to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of both the Vestey Holdings culture, and that of the group's companies.
Your responsibilities will be to:
Act as primary contact with the Group companies to ensure effective and timely delivery of strategies and projects
Support the continual development of the sustainability strategy, KPIs and targets for Group companies
Develop a Group internal engagement plan with the support of the Group Communication and Marketing team
Work with the Group and, where required, Group companies' communication teams, to help inspire, increase awareness and drive actions across the business
Implement a system enabling companies to report on their sustainability KPIs monthly, quarterly, and annually to the Group Finance Director and the CEO to submit to the board
To be successful in this role, you're likely to have:
Broad experience within a corporate ESG / sustainability role
Comprehensive knowledge of sustainability and environmental legislation
Demonstrable experience of successful project and large-scale programme management
Capability to convince and get the buy-in of a diverse range of stakeholders
If you're keen to join a business with a rich history of commercial success and conducting business in a responsible fashion, please either apply directly, or get in contact with Tom Townsend at tom.townsend@acre.com
