We are currently supporting responsAbility, a leading global impact investor, in their search for an experienced professional to lead their Climate Finance business line.
Currently, this is made up of two private credit funds with around $900m in AUM, financing energy generation, energy efficiency and electric mobility across Africa, South and South East Asia and South/Latin America, directly and through financial institutions. A third fund is also being launched, and further future funds are currently being thought about.
The Head of Climate Finance will oversee and lead the existing funds and will play an integral role in the conceptualisation of future funds. The team is currently made up of 20 professionals across Zurich, Lima, Tbilisi, Nairobi, Mumbai and Bangkok. The management and development of this team will be a core focus of this role.
Responsibilities:
Lead responsAbility's Climate Finance strategic development, fundraising, research and management of existing funds.
Refine and develop new investment strategies, deciding upon which geographies and sectors to prioritise.
Oversee and manage the funds investment process from start to finish.
Lead and mentor a team of highly capable and ambitious investment professionals.
Operate as a key person on the two existing funds.
Represent responsAbility's Climate Finance capabilities internally and on the global stage.
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience and track record as a leader in emerging markets credit investment.
Deep understanding and track record of investing in private credit investments into climate-orientated SMEs.
Experience leading and managing a team of investment professionals.
Responsibility for investment decision-making at a senior level.
Familiarity and network within the global development finance institution space.
