Acre is pleased to partner with Forest Investment Associates (FIA), who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing and Research Associate to support the firm's business development and capital raising activities.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in generating prospect leads, identifying market trends, and leveraging research to position the firm's investment services. The Business Development and Marketing Associate will play a pivotal role in providing valuable insights and materials to facilitate the firm's growth and market positioning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for market analysis, excellent research skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to support the firm's business development and marketing strategies. The role will advance FIA's abilities to engage with the market through positioning timberland in institutional portfolios, such as through focused engagement with and development of content to inform investment consultants and asset allocators.

The Associate will be part of a small, dedicated team of business development and forestry investment professionals and will report to the Managing Director, Head of Business Development & Sustainability. This is a new role, anticipated to be dynamic as the business pursues growth strategies. Day-to-day tasks may evolve quickly, and the candidate will be entrusted to manage their time and priorities efficiently and to communicate proactively.

The role is intended to be hybrid, with in-person time required in the firm's Atlanta headquarters, typically two days per week. Travel is estimated at less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to understand trends, opportunities, and challenges in the forestry investment sector and institutional capital markets.

  • Gather and analyze information on market dynamics, competitor strategies, industry reports, economic trends, investor preferences, and regulatory changes affecting the industry to inform the firm's marketing strategies and content development.

Prospect Generation and Marketing Support

  • Identify and research potential clients and investors in the real assets market.

  • Develop and maintain a database of prospects, including institutional investors, family offices, corporate investors, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Respond to internal and external queries, requests for information and data, resolving queries fully, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

  • Play a connecting role with cross-team coordination to support investor Q&As, RFPs, and other marketing activities.

  • Track marketing outreach, support team KPI reporting, and administer CRM. 2

Marketing Strategy and Content

  • Utilize market research, internal analysis, and collaborate within FIA to develop compelling investment presentations tailored to the identified prospects, highlighting the firm's expertise and unique value proposition.

  • Assist in creating and implementing marketing strategies, including strategic communications and content distribution to reach potential investors.

  • Provide critical insights to the FIA team regarding market trends, investor sentiments, and competitive landscape.

  • Prepare marketing collateral, presentations, white papers, and contribute to thought leadership based on research findings to educate potential investors and engage stakeholders about the benefits of forestry investments.

Collaboration and Team Support

  • Work closely with senior business development team members to align strategies and refine the firm's market positioning.

  • Provide support for marketing events, conferences, and client presentations, ensuring all materials and presentations are up-to-date and aligned with the firm's messaging.

  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field desirable.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in market research, business development, or marketing, preferably in the investment management industry.

  • Familiarity with alternative investments, real assets, forestry investment, natural climate solutions, and/or sustainable investments would be a benefit.

  • Familiarity with CRMs and data warehouses a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using market research tools and databases.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations and reports; experience with innovative content delivery and ability to think creatively to develop narratives would be a benefit.

  • Professional demeanor and comportment with prior client-facing experience a plus

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Eligible for work in the United States without sponsorship
