Senior Environmental Specialist

Acre is partnering with Associated British Foods plc. - an international conglomerate operating in 55 countries across five diverse segments: Grocery, Ingredients, Agriculture, Sugar and Retail. With a strong commitment from the organisation to understand and reduce its environmental impact, we are supporting ABF with the recruitment of a Senior Environmental Specialist who will provide technical and operational environmental expertise, particularly focusing on GHG emissions quantification.

This newly-created role is critical to understanding scopes 1,2 and 3 emissions data, and supporting the ABF businesses with relevant action plans.

You will be responsible for:

• Owning and leading all the quantification aspects of GHG emissions (Scopes 1,2 and 3)

• Providing expertise on the management of the main environmental impacts and risks as well as analysing ABF's environmental performance data, ensuring reports can be provided to the business in a timely manner

• Influencing group businesses to think about environmental sustainability topics, including carbon, water and waste

• Provide technical, operational and risk management environmental advice to the group and businesses as required.

Reporting to the Group Safety & Environment Manager, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on defining group environmental KPI methodologies in tandem with ABF businesses whenever needed in accordance with reporting standards.

You will already have:

• Expertise in international GHG quantification standards and protocols

• Comprehensive working knowledge of carbon sources, emissions, and removals

• End-to-end project management experience, including planning, communication and financial analysis.

• Strong numerical academics, either science or engineering-based.

This role is based in London, and you will be visiting operations internationally.
