CEF is the UK's largest electrical wholesaler, with almost 400 branches nationwide. Working in partnership with the Director of Sustainability & ESG, in this newly created role, you will guide and deliver the social value strategy with people and the local community at its core.

The importance of social value is increasing at CEF, driven by a number of factors, including major customer requirements, where the topic is an ever-increasing condition of supply to major contracts.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing a connected Social Value strategy, including charity engagement, community investment and volunteering

  • Supporting the National Accounts & Projects department with tenders, bids and customer presentations to ensure social value requirements are delivered

  • Implementing and managing a performance management, monitoring and reporting framework for social value goals, requirements and KPIs

  • Working with relevant departments to ensure all social value data is recorded and reported in accordance with customer contractual requirements and industry best practice frameworks

  • Planning and managing meetings with local communities, customer projects and stakeholders

  • Working in partnership with the Head of Sustainable Supply Chain and Head of Procurement & Category Management to set social value standards for supply partners

This role will suit a pragmatic leader with a commercial attitude who has a passion for building relationships with shared value and shared impact and embedding social impact projects across CEF. You will be a proactive individual with strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

You will:

  • Have an authentic passion for championing and driving social value throughout the business and externally across the wider industry

  • Be a naturally collaborative partner, possessing excellent engagement and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade and influence to deliver strategy

  • Have an excellent technical understanding of the latest social value drivers, policies and delivery mechanisms

  • Bring broad and deep experience of social value frameworks, including Social Value Portal / TOMs and Social Value Model

  • Have a proven track record in generating, managing and nurturing relationships with customers, colleagues, supply partners and other service providers
