Acre is thrilled to partner with a leading climate change consultancy and service provider with a deep history of sustainability and innovation in growing its team across North America. Our client is leading the development and delivery of strategic solutions to address climate action, sustainability consulting, data and resource management, renewable energy procurement and supply chain decarbonization.

Reporting to the group's Director, this successful Senior Sustainability Consultant will join a growing division within the firm to deepen its climate strategy consulting capabilities, driving the development, execution and evolution of climate action vision, metrics, strategy and implementation across the full value chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) / carbon emissions inventories, water footprints, waste footprints and other environmental inventories including data analysis, emission factor development, calculation methodology, web-system deployment and support clients' third party environmental reporting activities.

  • Engage supply chain and other part of the value chain for transparency, carbon reduction, and sustainability performance.

  • Develop or recommend initiatives for achieving goals for energy reduction, green energy adoptions, or GHG reduction, including progress toward Net Zero goals or Science Based Targets.

  • Continuously calculate and analyze Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions utilizing primary and secondary data and carbon accounting methods compliant with the GHG Protocol.

  • Manage client communications for sustainability performance aligning procedures with global standards, such as GRI, CDP, SASB, and/or TFCD.

  • Coordinate ESG work-streams across the Firm, collaborating with PCs, NGOs and vendors to ensure consistency, integration and timely outcomes.

  • Support the development and evaluation of energy transition and low carbon pathways, creating strategies and roadmaps.

Experience Sought

  • Relevant bachelor's degree in business, sustainability, or environmental sciences, with a demonstrated interest/experience in ESG issues and themes (e.g. energy, climate change) is required.

  • Diverse experience across sustainability research and best practice implementation across the Energy Industry and Climate Change.

  • Experience in developing ESG and sustainability related methodologies, such as materiality assessment; performance indicators, monitoring and reporting; climate change vulnerability and impact assessment.

  • Strategic and critical thinker, with strong verbal and written communication skills in a client facing environment.

  • Demonstrate experience in supply chain GHG emissions, Scopes 1-3 analysis and product lifecycle emissions are strongly preferred.

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, writing, and project management skills.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in related or relevant field is preferred.
