Emergent is a mission focused non-profit designed to catalyze the markets for forest protection by enabling the jurisdictional approach needed to foster a strong commercial ecosystem and scale one of the most powerful tools in combating climate change.
The group is supported by a leading coalition of government and NGO sponsors which includes the EDF, the Government of Norway and the Rockefeller foundation with the goal of “priming the pump” for a high-integrity, high-volume REDD+ market. Emergent will accomplish this by acting as an aggregator and intermediary to help overcome barriers for both buyers and sellers, with the ambition to catalyze substantial flows of private sector funds underwritten by sovereign guarantees.

Considerable insight into the climate solutions ecosystem, ideally from experience leading business development efforts and closing complex transactions in the climate solutions ecosystem.
Demonstrated ability to influence growth and deliver value in a highly entrepreneurial and collaborative start-up environments, coupled with the ability to grow and motivate highly productive and innovative teams.
Strong track record of engaging and building consultative relationships with sophisticated buyers alongside a successful record of growing and delivering on a substantial sales pipeline.

Lead a Demand Strategy
As the Managing Director - Carbon Markets, you will lead the development and execution of a demand strategy that will drive high volumes of credits through Emergent, including direct sales and development of channel partnerships.
Grow and Foster Your Pipeline
You will drive sustainable change by growing and fostering a pipeline of buyers which may include industry consortia, airlines, energy companies, public sector clients (e.g. metropolitan authorities) and, in time retail customers.
Build Emergent's Brand and Reputation in the Marketplace
You will partner with the Executive Director and management team to influence strategy, develop a scalable business model, establish and manage strategic partnerships and build a strong brand and reputation in the marketplace.
Grow and Lead a Productive, Entrepreneurial Team
Shaping, recruiting and developing a highly productive and entrepreneurial team responsible for building both the supply and demand pipeline in a dynamic environment. Together, you and your team will drive research and industry engagement activities across the market.
