A leading global financial firm providing a wide range of investment management and wealth management services is looking to make a senior hire into their Sustainability Team, reporting into their Head of Responsible Investment.
The firm has a strong sustainability agenda and offer a variety of sustainable investing options, from funds that integrate ESG factors as an intrinsic part of the investment process, to thematic Sustainable Funds that seek to achieve attractive financial returns alongside positive impact.
The firm are looking for an ESG Data specialist to lead a new team within their Sustainable Investing business line. The role will work closely with the investment desks to ensure that Portfolio Managers have the required ESG data, tools and research to facilitate effective ESG integration into investment decision making and aid in the development of new Sustainable Funds.
We are looking for someone with the ability to critically analyse the firm's current ESG data and modelling provision, working closely with both fund managers and the technology team to develop and enhance proprietary tooling for ESG scoring, sustainability reporting and assessment models.
You will be required to act as an interface between ESG Investment teams and Data resources to understand business needs and areas for improvement, collect and communicate requirements, facilitate product development, and be the first point of response for any data queries. Develop ESG technology roadmap and work closely with members of the Sustainability team and product owners. You will lead the project management of ESG data priorities and assist in designing and developing investment dashboards, proprietary scoring or assessment models and working with investment teams on proprietary data collection and processing frameworks.
This will be a highly visible, senior role and the role holder will have the opportunity to build out a team underneath them.
Key experience:
Asset management industry experience preferred with a focus on sustainable/ESG investing
Experience looking at data structure and assessing the data quality of ESG ratings, and other data sets from specialist providers
Prior exposure working with structured and unstructured datasets to produce ESG analysis
Proven ability to work across different teams and functions to deliver multi-stakeholder projects
Strong understanding of equity, fixed income and alternative investments
